While You Wait
Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, and a man with a shrivelled hand
was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him, “Is it lawful
to heal on the Sabbath?”
He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not
take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore,
it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So, he stretched it out and it was
completely restored, just as sound as the other. Matthew 12:9-13

Bible stories depict to us, that the synagogue was meant to be a place of prayer, a place of
worship, a calm place of connecting to God and a place of healing. However, over time, it
became less of these things.
There are many lessons that can be learnt from the bible passage above. However, today,
God wants us to focus on the topic: While You Wait.
Waiting can be painful. It can be difficult. It brings with it; anticipation, fear or faith, hope or
despair. Someone might be waiting for the good news from a child. Someone else might be
waiting for the phone call that ends the worry. Yet another might be waiting to get an
appointment. Someone again, might be waiting to have their prayers answered: healing,
marriage, reconciliation, children, the way forward, etc. We all perhaps have something we
are waiting for. The question for us today is: What really should we do while we wait?
In our bible reading today, we see a man with a withered hand waiting in the synagogue.
Nothing is said of his expectations. However, Jesus stepped in to help him and heal his
withered hand.
How does this relate to us today? you may ask. Sometimes, we wait on the system or the
government to fix our daily challenges. We wait to hear from the doctor, what next. We wait
for the government to execute their promises. We wait for things to happen according to the
order which has been set out by the system.
However, today, God wants you and I to know that while we wait, we shouldn’t be blind
sighted of His presence with us and His ability to step in and heal us completely. We can be
healed even while we wait. Jesus can heal you even right now.
Do you believe in Jesus and His miraculous power, then let Him in. You can ask Him to take
charge and heal you, and He will. Even while you wait to be seen, or while you go through
the process of medical intervention, Jeus can still perform a miracle. You can ask Him, Lord,
make this medication work one-time and effectively on me. Let there be no complications.
May I be miraculously healed beyond the expectations from the medicine, with no relapse.
Jesus, I trust you for a complete and total restoration even while I wait. Amen
If perhaps your wait doesn’t relate to healing, you can still trust God to step in and intervene
while you wait. He can reverse the outcome for a better outcome, He can accelerate the
process, He can create a new and appropriate model to match your prayers. He can step in.
The focus today is this: while you wait, put on the garment of faith. Have faith in God
completely. Remember that He is with you, and He can fix that ‘withered’ arm completely, faster and better than you anticipated. While you wait, ask Jesus. See Him and put your faith
to work. Jesus is with you. Amen
We pray for you today: Dear Jesus, we pray for your son and daughter reading this today. We thank you because You are with them even right now. Your word makes it clear to us in Deuteronomy chapter 31 verse 6 and Hebrews Chapter 13 verses 5 and 6 that You will never leave us. So we thank You because You are with us, your children even right now. As we go through this period of waiting, please strenghten us. Help us to hold on in faith. May we feel your presence with us. We ask that you step in and intervene in our unique circumstances and give us a miracle, so we can also share to the world of your mighty presence and work in our lives, in Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.
