PEACE (Part 3)

2 Chronicles 20:30
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
Unusual Peace
Can you imagine what it would be like to be completely stress free? Can you imagine what it would feel like to be at peace in these times of uncertainty? Is this really possible? Well, let's see what the scripture has to say. It is wonderful to know that the scripture has something to say about it.
In our passage today 2 chronicles 20:30, the bible tells us about the experience and state of a king called Jehoshaphat, whom the Lord had just given victory and mighty deliverance from his enemies ( 2 chronicles 20 for further studying ). 2 Chronicles 20:30 tells us: 'So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about'. Amazingly! The whole kingdom of Jehoshaphat experienced peace. No wars. No one fighting or chasing. There was complete quietness in his realm. His realm meaning everything that concerns him: his life, his family, his business, his people and his kingdom. But the scripture goes on to tell us what made this possible:'....for his God gave him rest round about'. Complete and total rest made possible by 'his' God. Note for emphasis: his God....the Almighty God. Hallelujah! It takes God and God alone to experience unusual peace in these days of uncertainty.
It takes God and God alone! Psalms 23:1-2 says 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters'. Beside the still waters! This is the testimony of king David. You see, when God is leading everything is peace. When God is in control of a life, there is stillness round about. When God is allowed absolute control in a life, unusual peace is guaranteed. '....for his God gave him rest round about'.. Isaiah 30:15 further buttresses this fact: 'For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not'. God is simply saying, in trusting me, there is quietness, rest and peace.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 says 'Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all'. God is the Lord of peace. God is the author of peace. In Him we can experience the 'always peace'. Wow! Peace always and constant. Always means at all times. It is possible to experience unusual peace constantly in these period and seasons of uncertainty.
Do have a wonderful weekend and God bless you.
