Words Are Powerful Pt 4
“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” Proverbs 15:23 NKJV
What we say and the content of our words matter! How we say it matters as much!And when we say it is also as important! In other word the timing of our words could influence its impact.
A quick consideration in the verse we just read, .....And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!. Words spoken in due season and at the right time can be very powerful, with tremendous outcome. Notice the expression, '...how good it is!' It brings joy and Joy is good'A word spoken in due season! People are in different 'seasons' and at different times in their lifes. People are in different situations and circumstances of life: High and low times; times of loss or gain. They may be happy or sad for whatever reason, which may be known or unknown to us.
The tact to recognize these can be a great tool in our communication to or with them. “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold In settings of silver.” Proverbs 25:11 NKJVThis is powerful indeed. A word fitly spoken! Saying a kind or encouraging word when it is most needed. Most times silence is all that is needed (words deferred at the right time). Bringing comfort, joy and peace with our words spoken in due season.Meditate on Proverbs 15:23 and I pray that the Lord will help us all to learn to speak in due season.
