Godliness Pays (Pt 2)

“There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?'' Genesis‬ ‭39:9‬ ‭NKJV Godliness ensures promotion. Living for God is not detrimental to a successful life! This is the story about Joseph who had suffered hatred, envy, conspiracy and betrayal from his very own brothers. His brothers at one time threw him into the pit and left him to die; but they eventually sold him as a slave to a strange land...Egypt (Genesis 37). Joseph while in the house of his master in a strange land, was seduced by the wife of his master but he would not give him. Notice what Joseph said in the verse we just read '....How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?'. Joseph stayed true to God. He refused to give in to immorality solely because of his fear of and for God. He had a relationship with God and was faithful even when no one was watching. He couldn't let God down. Notwithstanding, he was unjustly imprisoned but at the end he was enthroned as a governor in Egypt....the same strange land. Godliness indeed promotes. Joseph testified '....God has made me lord of all Egypt.....”‭‭Genesis‬ ‭45:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. What a story and experience! What a testimony! This will be our testimony if we keep the faith during challenging situations or difficult experiences. Do you feel pressured or at a point of giving in? Do you feel discouraged? Do you feel you are being treated unjustly where you are? Are you thinking of giving in to pressure and turning away from God? Be encouraged to keep faith and stay true to the Lord. Like Joseph, we can stay true to God as there is promotion ahead. Truly, godliness pays off. Have a great week and God bless you. Amen.
